I NEED HELP BUT…

As much as we don’t like to admit to ourselves (or others), we all have our strengths and we have our weaknesses. Whether we like it or not from time to time, we are all going to require some help from someone or for something.

This may be getting help from a personal trainer to get your health and fitness in shape. A relationship counsellor to help you work on some aspects of your marriage or partnership. A business coach to help to identify and improve some areas of your business that you may be missing. Or a personal financial adviser /coach to help to improve your personal finances.

Unfortunately, we make excuses to ourselves as to why we don’t or can’t seek the help that we may need. These include; having too much pride and ego, which for a lot of us (MALES) we have too much of it to ask for help. Not having enough time, we all tell ourselves that we are too busy to get help. Not being able to afford it, before we even pick up the phone and ask for help we have in our mind that it is going to be too expensive to talk to a professional.

It is so much easier just to make these excuses and carry on being unhappy or unfilled, that is only until we are forced to make a change that we get help. It is only when the SH#T hits the fan, divorce, bankruptcy or the passing of a close friend or family member that things quickly get put into perspective and we realise that if only we had fixed these issues 6 months, 1, 2 years ago that this wouldn’t have happened. And we wouldn’t be left picking up the pieces.

It is time that we ask for help when we need it, make the changes we need to and to stop letting our own excuses and the opinions of others affect us and stop us from making our own lives and the lives of those around us better.
